Which Editor?

posted Thursday, 1 February 2007

There are two editors at blog-city, one advanced, one basic HTML. Both support these browsers:
Internet Explorer
Netscape
Opera
Mozilla

By default if your browser supports it then the advanced editor will be used.

You'll notice in tutorials on the site, we refer to the advanced editor and basic editor. The two are differentiated below.

How to choose your editor

Log in to your administration interface, and click on the Settings tab. Choose the Editor(16) icon.

Then choose from the type of editor you wish from the popup window and click Ok

Basic (No WYSIWYG) Editor

Shown below is the basic editor which as you'll see doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the advanced editors. Recommended for more experienced users, who know their way around HTML.

Advanced Editor

This is our newest editor edition and goes by the name of TinyMCE, it comes with a spell checker if you are in IE, and some rather functional icons such as clean up HTML, add flash and emoticons. For a full explanation of the features, visit this page.
