Web Ping
When you publish an entry all the people on your mailiing list get an email alerting them to the fact. However wouldn't it be nice if a much wider audience, potentially thousands or even millions were to get to know about your post?
There is a mechanism to allow this to happen through sites called aggregators. Aggregators take content from around the blog world and presents it back allowing people to quickly see and overview a wide range of sites at once.
Blog-City upon publishing will automatically 'ping' a number of more popular aggregators alerting them that your blog has been updated. We ping the following, WebBlogs, Technorati, RootBlog.com, BlogRolling, Yahoo and Bl.og.
You can turn off this feature by going to the Settings tab and choosing the Site Options(15) icon.
Choose Not to have your entries listed in our community and we won't ping your blog anywhere!
