Mailing list subscribers

posted Thursday, 1 February 2007

A blog reader can use the mailing list widget on your blog to sign up for email alerts whenever you create a new entry or publish an update to an old entry.

To see how many members your mailing list has, and their email addresses, log in to your Administration interface, go to Settings and click on Mailing List (6).

Here you will see a list with the emails of all subscribers, and their total number.

Note that you can only see the emails of members who haven't chosen to be anonymous. The number of subscribers includes both anonymous and visible members.

Adding the Mailinglist Widget

If you go to Widgets and choose Main Blog from the radio area options, you should see a colourful representation of your blog. This is the drag and drop layout. To add the mailinglist widget click to add widget link in the gutter area.

Once you are in the Widget Browser, choose the General tab. In there you will find the mailing list widget. Choose to insert it, configure it and save. It will appear in your gutter as required.
