Sometimes you have an entry that you don't want anyone to comment on, or you simply wish to filter the comments that will be submitted. Here we'll discuss how this can be achieved on your blog, giving you a certain degree of control and protection.
There are two situations we will discuss. First, if you wish to change the comments settings on a single entry from the default blog-wide ones, (e.g. if you generally don't accept comments, but wish to hear what your readers have to say about a particular entry). Secondly, if you want to change the settings through all your entries in one go.
Login to your Administration interface, and click on the Archives menu tab, then on the title of the entry you wish to edit. On the right hand side you'll see the control panel for the entry, click on the Settings (1) Tab:

Select and set the Who can leave a comment?(2) option and Save entry (3). Options are:
If you want to change how the comments work across your entire blog, click on the Settings menu tab in your administration interface, and then on Entry Options (1).
From the Comments(1) tab in the popup box, select the option (2) you wish to use (options are the same as for individual entries as above). Save the changes by clicking on the Ok(3) button, at the bottom of the popup. This will change how your entries, from now on, will work. That is, any new entries you create now will automatically use this setting on their comments, and old entries will retain the settings they previously had.
If you want to apply this setting to ALL entries, new or old, overwriting their previous one, then click on the "Click here to reset all your entries to this setting for comments" link (4). After a confirmation dialog, the new setting will take place.
