Blog-City XML-RPC Gateway

posted Thursday, 1 February 2007

Blog-City supports the most popular XML-RPC interfaces, including Blogger API, MoveableType API and the MetaWeb API.  For technical information on these API's please visit here.

Many tools will offer you a variety of different options as to how you may communicate with your blog.  The order of preference you should choose if available:

  1. MoveableType API
  2. MetaWeb API
  3. Blogger API

The BloggerAPI should really only be choosen if there is no other alternative - this API does not support entry titles and you may find yourself continually going back to your blog to edit your entries.

The end point/Remote URL/XMLRPC Gateway address you should use is:

http://xmlrpc.blog-city.com/rpc/

Remember the trailing slash, as some software packages will complain and throw errors.  The username and password you log in with is the same you use for your blog.  Most software will present you with a list of blogs that you have currently registered asking you to select on.

The interface has been successfully tested with: Writely.com, Flickr, Microsoft Live Writer and many other desktop applications.
